The shawl begins at the top center and is worked outwards to the border. The main body of the shawl is worked in various stitch patterns with a 3-stitch Garter border along both edges. Each section is worked in one or two contrasting colors, creating a visually pleasing effect. A simple two-color brioche border forms the bottom edge of the shawl.
Size One size approx. 165 cm/65” wide and 75 cm/30” long at center spine.
Yarn
3 skeins of Goya Merino by Cecily Grove Yarns (100% merino; 400m/437y per 100g) or any other fingering weight yarn which gives you the correct gauge.
Shown in colorways: Unicorn Fart (CC1), Light bugs (CC2) and Spooky (CC3), 1 skein each.
Needles 3.5mm/US #4 circular needle (100 cm/40” long).
Other 2 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving, blocking pins.
Gauge 24 sts and 48 rows = 10 cm/4” in Garter stitch worked flat (after wet blocking). The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage.
