Gauge25 sts and 44 rows = 10 cm/4” in Garter stitch worked flat (after wet blocking). The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage.
ConstructionThe shawl begins at the top center and is worked outwards to the border. The body of the shawl is worked alternating Garter stitch with a slipped stitch pattern. Four increases in every RS row (one at each end and one on each side of the center or “spine” stitch - shown in bold throughout the instructions), create the triangular shape. The shawl is ideal to showcase beautiful color combinations of solid yarns paired with a variegated skein.
