“The grass was greener
The light was brighter
When friends surrounded
The nights of wonder…”
~Pink Floyd

This shawlette was knit by me during hard times when I had to struggle through bad emotions, hardship and fear. Every stitch gave me comfort that one day I’ll still get a chance to have a normal life and be able to trust someone, a life with high hopes of a bright future filled with respect and love. Hope this little fluffy shawlette gives you comfort too.

The shawl begins at the center and is worked outwards to the border. There are two yo increases in every row, creating a curved
crescent shape. The periodic eyelet increase rows multiply the stitches to get a more pronounced shape. The shawl is worked mostly in Stockinette stitch with a Garter ridge every 6th
row. Then it is finished with a simple knitted-on border.
The sample shawl is worked in a mohair laceweight paired with a fingering but would look equally beautiful when knit in two fingeringweight yarns.

Size
One: approx. 150 cm/60” wide and 45 cm/18” long at center.

Yarn
Old Maiden Aunt Superwash Merino 4ply (100% superwash merino; 400m/440y per 100g); 1 skein, colorway Mudder’s Milk (CC1).
SnailYarn Silky Mohair Lace (72% Kid Mohair, 28% Silk; 420m/459y per 50g); 1 skein, colorway Pebbles (CC2).

Needles
3.50 mm/US #4 circular needle (100 cm/40” long).

Other
2 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving.

Gauge
21 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm/4” in Stockinette st measured flat after wet blocking.
The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage, so I strongly recommend making a swatch and adjusting the needle size if necessary.
